Generate content from your codebase and docs

Step 1: Authorize the Dev-Docs GitHub App

Step 2: Install the Dev-Docs GitHub App

Choose installation location

Choose where you want to install the Dev-Docs GitHub App. You can install it on your personal account or in an organization you manage.

Step 3: Configure repository access

Select access scope

Select which repositories you want the Dev-Docs GitHub App to access. You can choose between "All repositories" or "Only select repositories".

Step 4: Select specific repositories

Choose individual repos (if applicable)

If you chose "Only select repositories", search for and select the specific repositories you want to grant access to.

Step 5: Access the content generation interface

Navigate to the content generation interface in the Dev-Docs application.

Step 6: Choose the context for content generation

Select existing docs and code files

Select the existing documentation or code files you want to use as context for generating new content.

Step 7: Review generated content

Examine AI-generated output

After submitting your request, review the AI-generated content based on your selected codebase and documentation context.

Step 8: Refine the content

Modify and regenerate as needed

Use the available options to refine or regenerate the content until it meets your requirements.

Add more context if necessary

If needed, you can select additional documentation or code files to provide more context for improving the content generation.

Step 10: Finalize and save

Commit generated content to documentation

Once you're satisfied with the generated content, finalize and save it to your existing documentation.

Step 11: Review and publish

Perform final checks before publishing

Before publishing, review the newly generated content in the context of your existing documentation. Make any final edits or adjustments to ensure consistency and accuracy.
